Yes, I saw 300. I have to say I was extremely impressed by the physical attributes of the Spartan Warriors. But the movie was a bit disturbing if a bit challenging.

If I was a Spartan I would have chest hair. I would be tall in stature and able bodied to sacrifice life and soul for the glory and honor of Sparta. I would leave behind my wife and child to face the enemy and damnit, I'd look great doing it as well. Only God would protect my soul while my elite companions would keep my back. And if I did die, I know I would not be dining in hell, but be feasting in heaven with Jesus.

If only I could have been born a Spartan.

thanks! 4 hours, man. But it was worth it. I have some great images to go off of. Funny thing about them movie Spartans - no chest hair. You can't tell me there's no body hair in Sparta.

I think Spartans shaved it off. I'm not sure but facial hair was fine a symbol of manhood. But I think body hair was not in. It's all about the style of the times. Check it out on the Internet about customs of Sparta and see if it was just their thing. Facial hair has been a long held thing for manhood. I'd be in deep shit since I couldn't really grow a mustache until I was in my late 30's.
Remember also, Spartans were more than just partners on the battlefield. The movie hints at it.

Oh it's historical the relationships between Spartans, Greeks, Romans, it was very common and i would even guess to say and equality amongst their societies unlike today. Even if they did shave their bodies, I stand my ground - for I would be a hairy Spartan and they'd have to deal with it.

.....
and they'd dip you in wax or pin you down and shave your entire body - ouch for concealing your body (okay you might enjoy that) BTW - Christ (no such thing during Spartan times and I know you know that - the Spartan's were into Hercules. He was supposed to have have been the father of the people.) Your just a rebel. Feed him to the lions - :) Just kidding :)
